Aristolochia clematitis is one of the most used plants. Ancient Egyptians would used it as remedy. They would call it "the cobra's herb", because back then, it was the only remedy against snake bite. They would use it for curing skin infections, animal and insect bite, as well as against and any kind of infectious disease. Ancient Gauls would use it for curing tumours and wounds. In the Middle Age, Spanish knights used it for healing wounds and preventing infections. Sixteenth and seventeenth century English physicians recommended it for immunity in case of infectious disease, which had been fatal back those days. They advised people of the toxic properties of Aristolochia clematitis, proving its side effects in case of cures who exceed three weeks. It may harm kidneys, bladder and digestive tract.
