Corn husk

People who suffer from fatness, digestion disorder, cancer or any other kind of illness, may use it for cure. It contains B-complex vitamins, magnesium, enzymes, and food fibers. If we use more than 1 kilo of husk, it substitutes a handful of pills.

Husk water
Put 2-3 teaspoons of husk into a glass of water (at room temperature), keep it for 8-10 hours (over night). After it soaks, do not filter it, but drink it as such. It contains a lot of vitamins and enzymes. Also use the deposits from the bottom of the glass (full of minerals and food fibers). Usually, drink one glass in the morning, on empty stomach. You can also drink 2-3 glasses a day, before eating, in case of serious problems. A cure should last for 2 weeks, but you can use it for 2-3 months because it is not harmful.

Fine powder
Mill it with electrical coffee blender, for half a minute. Mix the powder with water (one teaspoon before and after meal) or add it to the food (soup, vegetable salad, etc.). Take 2 teaspoons of powder for any meal. It improves digestion and it is also recommended for diets. The cure should last for 6-12 months because it has no side effects.

Prescriptions
- fatness and gaining weight - take no more than one teaspoon of powder at every meal. The grains increase their volume within the stomach and produce a sensation of repletion. They help to the elimination process, in case of fatness.
- difficult digestion or indigestion - the enzymes make digestion work/improve digestion and help to food assimilation. Take half teaspoon of powder before and after meals. It stops colitis, distention, etc.
- biliary lithiasis (as auxiliary to any treatment) - take husk powder: half teaspoon before and after meals.
- constipation and colitis - drink each morning a glass of soaked husk. It is laxative and cleans out the intestines. In case of chronic diseases, drink one extra glass in the evening, before dinner.
- acnea, skin problems (allergy) - drink cold soak: one glass a day, for at least 30 days.
- preventing cancer - make a ten days-cure with cold soak once a month: one glass a day. Food fibers, vitamins and minerals prevent stomach, liver, intestinal and rectal cancer. It may be used as auxiliary.

External use:
- irritated skin - use compress with husk water (filter the soak) two times a day (in the morning and evening), for at least 10 minutes.
- psoriasis - after the husk is soaked, it turns into a paste; put the paste on a compress and sooth the harmful area. Do it once a day and also eat vegetables and cleansing plants.
- cyst, fibroma, adrenal-fibroma, etc. - mix husk with water, let it soak for 4 hours and put them into a piece of lint. Put the compress on the suffering spot and keep it for 3 hours. After taking off the cataplasm, let the skin dry out and massage it with black wort comfrey (Symphytum officinale).

Maize

Spanish colonists brought the plant from America into Europe 500 years ago. In Romania, it has been sown since 1700. It became one of the main nourishment in the countryside: maize substituted bread. Maize is the basic ingredient for a Romanian special dish, called mamaliga. It also has therapeutic properties and it is used for curing several diseases:
- fatness - it produces satiety more than any other food, due to the fibers it contains.
- hypo-thyroid - specialists' studies have proved that people who usually eat maize, do not suffer from fatness, slumber, etc.
- biliary dyskinesy, indigestion, colecistitis - maize increases the quantity of the bile and improves its elimination. It prevents biliary inflammation. If we eat as much mush and vegetable salad as possible, it prevents us from suffering.
- hyper-acid gastritis, ulcer - eat warm mush instead of bread. Maize reduces acid and soothe pains. Nutritional studies proved that if we eat it often, it also prevents rheumatism, diabetes, painful menstruation, salpingitis, kidney lithiasis and hepatitis.

Cataplasm with mush (- quack medicine) - Put a thin towel or a piece of lint on the chest of the patient, spread mush all over it (as hot as possible) and cover it with a waterproof cloth and a blanket to keep warm. The patient should lay down for half an hour and then, remove the cataplasm. One might use it in case of acute bronchitis, pneumonia, chronic cough, kidney colic, nephritis, cystitis, and salpingitis.

Barley

It was the first cereal ever sown in the world, in Egypt and India (4,000 years ago). Chinese people used to consider it both food and medicine. In Europe, it is consumed in large quantities: as juice (young plants) and flakes (manufactured). The flakes keep the therapeutic properties of the grains.

It cures all sorts of illness, such as:
- hepatitis, post-hepatitis disorder, chronic hepatitis - barley flakes are a perfect liver cleanser and help to regeneration of  liver cells. They are good if prepared with honey and fruits: apples, quince, underbrush and blueberries.
- hypo-blood pressure - if used on daily basis, barley increases blood pressure which prevents hyper-pressure, oscillatory pressure or palpitations. It also prevents heart ischaemia.
- diarrhoea, dysentery and typhoid fever (taken as auxiliary) - eat flakes mixed with herbal sweet infusion: mint, basil, or black tea. Intestinal and gastric atony, digestion problems and appetite: eat one plate of flakes (in the morning and evening), combined with fruits (apples, pineapples, blueberries, underbrush, gooseberry) and honey. In case of tuberculosis or chronic bronchitis, use a mixture of flakes and hot milk, honey and little ginger powder. Eat it for breakfast and dinner.

Oat

Dacia's inhabitants and Ancient German tribes used it as basic food. Later on, in the Middle Age, Northern European tribes used it for producing energy, in autumn and winter (when moist and cold). Nowadays, we use it as flakes since they are tasty.
- hyper-thyroid - it stimulates thyroid. Oat flakes can be used on long-term diets by people suffering from it. They can also drink tea (during 24 hours) - 7 grains boiled into half litre of water. It stimulates body activity and produce energy. It is recommended against asthenia, tiredness, kidney stone, flu, and sexual disorder (male).
- auxiliary against sterility and impotence - late studies prove that people who eat a large quantity of cereals, reach high age and remain fertile.
- cold - use oat often.
- biliary and kidney stone - 4 teaspoons of boiled flakes, mixed with half litre of water (boil it for 20 minutes); filter it before use. Drink it during one day; the cure should last for14 days. It is useful against diabetes, gout, hepatitis (auxiliary).
