Hay flowers

Recipes

Hot bath with hay flowers

Boil five litres of water and add 10-15 handful of flowers. Make an infusion, let it boil for 15-20 minutes and stir it from time to time. Filter and pour it while hot into the bathtub. The temperature should be up to 38-40°C. The bath should last for 20-30 minutes and keep the water very warm.
Therapeutic indication
Hot bath makes blood circulate, allows the fast assimilation of active properties, increases the defending properties of the human body against any infection. It is a good remedy against kidney infection and cystitis, rheumatism, cold, and flu. It is highly recommended for sensible persons (those who easily get cold).
Partial hot bath (feet and bottom) should be made into a basin cool infusion ( 37-39° C), without adding water.
Prescription and caution
Complete bath - the temperature should be increased gradually, from 36-37° C. People suffering from hypertension, heart ischaemia, epilepsy, or serious arteritis should not make hot bath.

Bath with complete extract

Soak 7-10 handful of hay flowers into 5 litres of water. Let it soak for 8-10 hours, at room temperature (all day long). Filter the soak and keep it into a pot. Add another 3-4 handful of fresh flowers, boil them for 1-2 minutes into 5 litres of boiling water and let the infusion cool down for 20-30 minutes. After cooling, filter it and combine it with the cold soak and then, pour it into the bathtub. The extract contains active properties obtained by soaking.

Cataplasm
Warm cataplasm
Put a handful of hay flowers into a cup of boiling water, and boil it for 10-15 minutes. Take off the flowers and filter it. Put them into a peace of lint, put it on the wound/ harmful spot and keep it there as long as possible.

Cold cataplasm
Take a handful of flowers, mill it in the coffee machine and put them into warm water (37-42°C). Let it cool for 1-2 hours then, put them into lint and keep it on the painful spot.

The cure is recommended for:
- peripheric nerves, muscle pains - make complete bath (30 minutes long). The cure should be made 2-3 times/week; it has a mild property: it regulates the central nervous system, stimulates peripheric nerves and eliminates muscle pains. It is recommended against paralysis, neuralgia and myalgia.
- cystitits, kidney problems - hot bottom bath, in the evening (10-20 minutes). Fill a basin with 5-7 litres of hot infusion and let the infusion cool - 39°C. From time to time, add infusion, so that the water stays warm. After bath, wipe with a dry and warm towel and stay in bed for half an hour.
- rheumatism - partial/complete bath. Usually, natural therapists recommend very hot complete bath (39-41°C). Prepare 5 litres of complete extract, put it into the tub, cover it with cellophane and get into the tub (keep your head out). From time to time, add hot infusion so that the water keeps being warm. Take a bath every two days, for at least 10 days. The cure is very good in case of rheumatism, analgesia, or articulation swelling. People who suffer from heart diseases should not take hot bath.
- skin damage - several plants growing into a hay stack have antiseptic properties: red trefoil, plantain, yellow fairy, shepherd's thyme, milfoil, etc. They can be used as main medicine or an auxiliary against infections, sweeling, eczema, sclerodemia, etc. Acute infection need strong against-swelling medicine (dermatitis, for instance) as it becomes more serious into moist environment. In order to cure allergy, infection, acnea, psoriasis, dermatitis, we recommend partial bath with complete hay extract. The cure should be intensive in the beginning: 1-2 bath, for 15-30 minutes/day, for a week. Then, take a bath every two days, for three weeks. You should also follow cures of dis intoxication using plants, such as: angelica, elder, etc.
- migraines - if the pain decreases into warm environment, use warm cataplasm on the nape of the neck; press it with a bottle filled with hot water (so that the temperature stays even). Keep it there for half an hour, meanwhile the patient should be relaxed, laid down on his stomach and breathe deeply. In case it becomes serious into warm environment, use cold cataplasm on the front head and temples and change them every 10-15 minutes. Do it for not more than an hour/day.
- complete bath with cold extract - meant for people suffering from stress (intellectual activity), poor energy and lacking in vitality. The cure should last for three weeks: 3 days of complete bath.
- insomnia - complete daily bath, in the evening, before sleep. The temperature should not be very high. The bath should last for 30 minutes. During the first week, take one bath/day, before sleep. Then, take a bath every three days.
- auxiliary, in cancer cure - it is highly recommended for curing cancer, since it dis intoxicates the body (the plants that grow into the hay stack): dyer's broom, common marjoram, caraway, white fairy, shepherd's thyme, red trefoil, etc. This kind of bath should be taken once or twice a week, at the most, and they should last for half an hour. The temperature should be even. Take complete bath.
