Myrrh (Commiphora myrrha)

Myrrh is the root of a small tree. Its branches have big thorns. It grows on the shores of the Red Sea. It has a distinct fragrance and curative properties. 

Prescriptions:

Tincture 
-
put 10 gr of myrrh into 100 ml of alcohol (90%) and let it soak for 7 days in a sealed jar. After that, use it for internal use - one teaspoon into half glass of water, 2-3 times/day.

Infusion
- take 1-2 small grains of myrrh: put them into a glass of hot water and keep them there for half an hour. The myrrh is not going to dissolve into water, but it will float and fill the water with its fragrance and healing properties. Take 1-3 teaspoons of infusion, 2-3 times/day.

Fumigation

- put a small grain of myrrh on a hot cooker until it begins to smoke. Any room shall be filled with a specific fragrance. If the resin is lit, do not let it dissipate into the air. Cover it with a lid and the smoke spread into the air. The fragrance shall last for an hour and has therapeutic properties. 

Few recommendations, in case of:
- flu, cold, bronchitis:
take a teaspoon of myrrh tincture/3-4 times a day, diluted into a glass of water. It has a strong bitter fragrance; use it against infections, to decrease fever, to prevent sickness and headache or flu. A cure usually lasts for 7 days, but you can take it up two weeks.
- tiredness, asthenia: take 20-30 drops of tincture, diluted into little water - 4-6 times/day. The myrrh has strong refreshing properties, it stimulates brain circulation and improves intellectual activity.
- anxiety, psychic restlessness, inability to focus: use burnt incense in your bedroom or office. Its fragrance is perfect; it has tonic properties, it eliminates emotional tension and calms down uncontrolled subconscious impulses.
- indigestion, distension: take 2-3 teaspoons of infusion, 15 minutes before eating and a few minutes after we have eaten. It strongly stimulates digestion.
- sensitivity to low temperatures (breathing infections): use burnt myrrh to scent the bedroom when are about to get cold. Its volatile substances spread into the air and they have immunity and against-catching properties.
- peripheral circulation shortage (cold hands and feet): massage both hands and feet with a concentrated infusion of myrrh (3-4 grains of myrrh into half glass of water).

Caution and inadvisable use!
First of all, do not use it internally if you did it buy it from special shops, with special recommendation. Do not use the incense processed with chemical additives because it is dangerous.

Special caution!
Pregnant women must not use it because it produces specific contractions.
