Spices

Pepper (Piper Nigrum)

It is the real king of spices. People use black, white and hot-chili pepper. Black pepper may be used for spicing up your food. It improves slow digestion and blood circulation. People suffering from indigestion, distention, infections, should use this spice. It is perfect for cures, such as:
- throat infections, cold – take one cup of hot tea (basil mint, shepherds' thyme) and put 2-3 teaspoons of black pepper. Let it soak for a few minutes then, drink it slowly. It cleans out both the throat and nostrils, and the cold disappears.
- cough - take half litre of strong brandy or food alcohol, and dilute it into water: four teaspoons of milled pepper, soaked for 5 days. Filter the drink, take one teaspoon and mix it into a glass of water. Stir it and drink it anytime you cough. The throat will be cleaned out and disinfected.
- sensitiveness to low temperatures - eat nothing but warm food for a week (not refrigerated) and take 2-3 teaspoons of powder before each meal.
- rheumatism - soak pepper into brandy and massage painful areas 2-3 times/day. It warms up the articulations and calms down pains. Follow the cure while cold and moist.
- asthenia - take as much as you can, before each meal. Do it 5 days in a row and you will feel warmth and active.
Caution: Black pepper might cause hyper-acid gastritis, hyper tension or nervousness. Be careful when taking it. It is not recommended in case of acute swelling and serious hyper tension.

Clove (Eugenia caryophillata)

Cloves have been discovered in India thousands of years ago. But Ancient Egyptians proved it was a real amazing remedy. They are used for disinfecting wounds and the entire body.

Therapeutic guidelines
- colitis, bile disorders - use cloves in fruit salad (apple, grapefruit, and lemon); 1-2 teaspoons of powder. Eat salads before each meal, for a week.
- distention - before and after meals, take one teaspoon of powder. The taste might be rather difficult to tolerate but the result is of high class quality.
- preventing cold - eat 1-2 cloves a day.
- toothache - mill one clove and put it on the aching tooth. It is a perfect anesthetic.
- skin rush and insect bites - mix powder with water until you get a paste; put it on the skin. The result will be surprising.

Cardamom (Elettaria cardamonum)

It is a traditional Arabic spice. You can find it in natural products shops or in Arab spices shops. It is used for spicing up coffee and cocoa. It is a perfect re juvenile. Frenchmen call it "love seed".
It is used against:
- different intoxications - eat 10 seeds daily, on empty stomach. Add 4-5 grains of cardamom to your coffee and it becomes less toxic.
- impotence and frigidity - take two yolks, mix them with 2 teaspoons of cardamom and 2 teaspoons of liquid honey. Mix it well and drink it in small zips.
- belching - eat a few seeds of cardamom after each meal.
- slow digestion - drink cardamom powder mixed with little water, ten minutes before eating. It helps digestion and brings energy.

Cinnamon (Cinnamonum ceylanici)

It is a small tree, original from Ceylon (Sri Lanka). The bark has a powerful smell and fragrance. It has been used ever since Middle Age, against influenza, internal pains, or as an aphrodisiac. It was brought to Romania by some chemists and used against gastritis, colitis and abdominal pain.
- blood circulation and heart disorders: take every day (in the morning and evening), two teaspoons of cinnamon mixed with liquid honey. It also regulates all nervous activity.
- hiccup, digestion spasms - take three teaspoons of powder, mix it with a glass of hot water and make an infusion. Drink it slowly.
- gums bleeding - make a concentrated infusion: one teaspoon of cinnamon into a cup of hot water. Clear out you mouth twice a day.
- appetite disorders - make a cure of fruit salad and sweets (add cinnamon).

Nutmeg

It is related to cinnamon. We can use them altogether. If taken in small quantity, it stimulates digestion and it is a slight incentive. If taken in big quantity, it calms nerves down and produces slumber.
- insomnia - let 1-2 teaspoons of nutmeg soak in one cup of water, over night. Drink it before sleep (you might sweeten it with honey).
- neuralgia - drink hot tea mixed with 2-3 teaspoons of nutmeg . It makes you feel good.
- bad breath - before and after meals, take a teaspoon of nutmeg mixed with clover.
- fast ejaculation - take on daily basis, half teaspoon of milled nutmeg mixed with water (one single dose).

Laurel (Laurus nobilis)

In Ancient Greece it was one of the most famous herbs for its flavour and fragrance. First of all, it was used as nourishment (daily dish) due to its digestive properties. It also stops intoxication.
It can be used against:
- drinking, intoxication, or poisoning – take 20-30 leaves, soak them into a cup of boiling water and prepare an infusion (20 minutes): emetic and des-intoxicating properties.
- slow digestion - 1-2 laurel leaves. The cure should last for an entire month - three leaves/day, taken on an empty stomach, (one in the morning, and another in the evening).
- sore throat, voice loss, and gum infection - put 10 leaves into one cup of boiling water. Let it cool and make gargle with it. Repeat it three times a day.
- flu and bronchitis - take the skin and 4 leaves of an orange, put them into a litre of water, let it soak for 4 hours, filter and drink it on empty stomach instead of water. It decreases fever, headaches and produces energy.
Caution: It causes vomit, if taken in big dose. Use it in small quantity when cooking, because it might produce vomiting. Some persons do not tolerate it then, they might not use it when cooking.
